Local trainer Ben Hill is looking for a winning start to just his second season as a trainer when he saddles up three runners at this Friday’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Charity Race Day.
The Wyong based Hill, who has only been training for just ten months and already has three winners to his name, starts half his team at the meeting.
The young trainer has six horses in work and is hoping to build his stable with continuing success.
He has engaged the services of in-form jockey Josh Adams for his trio of runners.
Hill last’s winner was at Newcastle on June 17 when Billabong Cindy brought up her third victory for the stable.

Hill saddles up Gacela in the Priority Business Lawyers Metro and Provincial Maiden over the mile and is confident she can perform well on her home track.
Hill believes a strong run last start where she finished second in a strong country maiden at Scone will have five-year-old daughter of Danewin primed for a competitive showing.
“It was a good run last start, she box seated, had every chance and looked the winner everywhere but the post,” Hill said.
“She looks to find a winnable provincial maiden here and like last start she won’t be far off them in the run, but I’ll leave that to Josh (Adams).”
In the Bishop Collins Chartered Accountants 3yo Maiden plate over the 1350m he saddles up Mahervellous, having her second race start.
A competitive sixth only beaten 2.9 lengths at her debut at Taree has given Hill and connections confidence that she could firm into a nice horse.
“It was a really good run last start where she was still a little green but she gets another chance here over more ground,” he said.
“She will probably head out for a spell after this run and I think she will get over even more ground. She’s a very relaxed filly but I really like here.”
Hill starts his final runner for the day in the Hundred Percent Tiling Maiden Plate over the 1100m with Kinross Brown attempting to break her maiden status.
The three-year-old daughter of Big Brown will be having just her second run after having her first start at Cessnock.
“She’s a really big filly and she’s bred to get two laps so I’d say next time in for her we will see the best of her over more ground.”
