Racing NSW has appointed Wyong businessman Frank Arangio as an Independent Director to fill the casual vacancy on the Wyong Race Club Board.
Wyong Chairman Garry Whitaker has welcomed the new appointment, noting that Frank brings a wealth of commercial and business expertise to the Board.
Frank Arangio recently relocated to the Central Coast with his family after he purchased the Royal Hotel, Wyong in June this year.
Having started out in Perth, Frank rose through the ranks at Lion Breweries over 25 years to become their National Sales Director in 2012 where he led their sales team of 450 staff across Australia with total sales of $1.6 billion. During this time he worked on many major commercial partnerships including Toohey’s sponsorship of the Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill. A keen racegoer and thoroughbred owner, after leaving Lion in December 2015 Frank was employed on a short term contract by the Australian Turf Club to oversee the amalgamation of the Rosehill Bowling Club into the ATC’s business.
Frank said he was excited to be joining the Wyong Race Club Board. “The Royal Hotel enjoys tremendous support from the local racing community and it has been pleasing to learn of the impressive progress that the Wyong Race Club has made over the past couple of years. I trust that with my experience in the hospitality sector and my business background I can contribute further to the Club’s ongoing success.”
