Another heat of the Provincial Championships Qualifier will be run at Wyong on Sunday after Wednesday’s Newcastle meeting was abandoned.
Stewards called the Newcastle meeting off after 26mls of rain fell on the Beaumont track up to 11am, leaving some water lying on the track at the 200 metres.
Racing NSW officials wasted no time in moving the Newcastle Qualifier to Wyong with the field and barrier draw remaining the same.
The Group Three Newmarket, the other feature on the Newcastle program, will be run at Rosehill on Saturday.
This is the second Qualifier run at Wyong with Kim Waugh dominating the first on March 3, winning with Supreme Effort and running second with His Majesty.
She will attempt to qualify a third on Sunday with Hetty Heights (pictured) who was pre post favourite for the Newcastle race today.
