Kris Lees looks set to continue the success he enjoyed at the Scone carnival with at least two strong winning chances at Wyong’s nine event program tomorrow.
Lees led in first and second in the Group Three Dark Jewel at Scone on Saturday, winning with Danish Twist and running second with Onemorezeta.
And he produced an exciting two year old in Blazing Steel which beat older horses, on debut, to win a 1000 metre maiden at the Friday meeting
Lees will start four horses at Wyong including two unraced two year olds but his winning chances would appear to rest with Admiral Jello (Brenton Avdulla) in the Wyong Regional Chamber of Commerce Class Two (2100m) and Go Arrivederci (Kerrin McEvoy) in the Servers Australia Class Two (1000m).
Admiral Jello has shown he could be a stayer in the making winning a 2200 metre Benchmark 60 on the Beaumont track at Newcastle at only his fifth start then running second over 2100 metres behind Just Dylan at Gosford.
Sportsbet has Admiral Jello the early favourite at $2.50 ahead of the Bjorn Baker trained Mystical Tale which has never raced beyond 1600 metres and never won over further than 1407 metres, in a Benchmark 59 at Orange two starts back.
Admiral Jello also has the services of Brenton Avdulla who returns after a suspension that saw him miss both days of the Scone carnival.
Go Arrivederci resumed from a spell to win a Wyong maiden in smart time late last month and appears to have come back much stronger following her break.
Former Singapore trainer Michael Freedman could land his first winner or winners since returning to Australia and setting up his stable at Rosehill.
He will start Gold Mosa (Kerrin McEvoy) in the CC Imag/Toni Oliver Conveyancing Three Year Old Maiden (1350m) and first starter Henry The Createth (Taylor Marshall) in the Job Centre Australia Two Year Old Maiden (1350m).
Gold Mosa ran a nice debut third at Hawkesbury then was constantly in trouble in the straight when fourth in a 1300 metre maiden at Goulburn.
Henry The Greateth was impressive in the way he finished off his trial at Randwick to beat Vasiliel when then went on to ran third, on debut, at Canterbury.
