Brett Partelle is hoping a home track advantage on Sunday will end a frustrating run of seconds and thirds for his stable this season.
Partelle has four runners at the One Stella meeting and is confident they all have a winning chance.
“I’m hoping for a good day and they all look to be genuine chances,” he said.
“We won a race at Cessnock the other day with Twice As Sweet and she went well but we had plenty of seconds and thirds before that which has been a bit frustrating.”
Partelle is excited about the prospect of Perfect Style, who lines up in the 1000m 3YO Maiden Plate.
By Wicked Style, the gelding is coming off a second at Newcastle on October 7, where he was beaten by just of a length.
“It looks like the perfect race for him on Sunday.
“The other day he got to Newcastle and for some unknown reason never got into his rhythm and got a bit lost on that track. He was never comfortable in his gait.
“His trial was brilliant and I think he’s got a very bright future.
“In a small field if he can jump to the front and get comfortable he will be hard to beat.
“Aaron (Bullock) back on him will help because he knows the horse.”
Partelle is leaning toward starting stablemate Destiny’s Choice in the same race, with the gelding also nominated in a 1200m Maiden on the program.
“At this stage I’ll probably run in the 1000m. He’s a nice horse on the way up and a new addition to the stable.
“I’ve been happy with his trials and think he’ll develop into a lovely three-year-old mile horse later on.
“I’ll probably kick him off in the 1000m and have a look at him.”
Destiny’s Choice will be ridden by Josh Parr.
Aaron Bullock also takes the ride on another from the Partelle stable, Trust Me, who starts from barrier 2 in the 1200m Benchmark 72.
“Trust Me is going terrific. He ran a really good time the other day and I expect him to go well.”
A four-year-old Sepoy gelding, Trust Me is resuming following two trial wins on the Beaumont track, the latest on October 11.
He put together three successive wins earlier in the year and was placed at two mid-week metropolitan meetings in the late winter before being freshened up.
“He’s also nominated for Warwick Farm next Wednesday but will most likely start at home.”
Partelle has engaged Glynn Schofield to ride Paris For Me in the same race.
He said while it is a strong field and the mare is only a class 2 horse he still expects a good showing.
“She has won at Wyong and likes the track. Her first up run at Gosford wasn’t without merit and I think she gets a chance in this very competitive race.”
Jockey Josh Adams, who recently returned from a six week suspension, will be prominent in the jockey’s challenge with a strong book of five rides.
Adams resumed riding at Canterbury on Wednesday and has been highly sought after by trainers, with a full book at Taree on Friday and four rides at Randwick on Saturday.
